The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard
University seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant or tenure-track
associate professor in Italian Studies. The appointment is expected
to begin on September 1, 2008. Teaching duties will include four
courses a year at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Native or
near-native fluency in Italian, a strong doctoral record in Italian
Studies, college-level teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly
activity are all required. A special interest in cultural studies,
cultural history, women's and gender studies, or film and visual
studies is preferred, but any field of specialization will be considered.
