The Department of Italian Studies and the Medieval-Renaissance Program at Wellesley College invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2010.The Department of Italian Studies and the Medieval-Renaissance Program at Wellesley College invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2010. Applicants should be native or near-native speakers of Italian and English, have a specialization in Dante Studies, and a commitment to teaching courses in Medieval and Renaissance literature. Candidates should demonstrate promise in teaching and scholarship, especially in Dante Studies, Italian language and literature, and Medieval and Renaissance literature and culture. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses: two in the Department of Italian Studies and two in the Medieval-Renaissance Program. In the Italian Department, responsibilities will include teaching courses on Dante, Italian language and literature at all levels of the curriculum. In the Medieval-Renaissance Program, the candidate will be expected to teach 200- and 300- level courses on important aspects on Medieval-Renaissance literature and culture with a comparative approach.
