CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Department of Romance Languages at Hunter College of the City University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track position in Italian at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2012. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Italian language, literature, and cultural studies in both Italian and English.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Italian (or appropriate equivalent) at the time of appointment and posses native or near-native fluency in Italian and English; show evidence of excellence in teaching and advising, and a potential for strong scholarly research; have a commitment to interdisciplinary teaching; and show an interest in technology enhanced instruction. Preference will be given to candidates who specialize in medieval Italian literature and culture.
COMPENSATION
Commensurate with experience.
