Function title: Assistant professor in Italian Studies
In this part-time (40%) position with tenure you will teach part of the courses offered in the BA and MA program in Italian Studies, particularly courses in the field of modern and contemporary Italian culture and literature. You will also participate in the course program of several collateral MA programs, notably the Research MA in Literary Studies. You are an established specialist in modern and/or contemporary Italian culture and literature with an international research profile. As a fellow of the Research Institute for History and Culture, your current and future research projects match the overall agenda of the Utrecht Research Group in Textual Culture. You have a good track record in academic services and will act as a co-ordinator in various academic programs and committees.
Requirements
Required education/skills:Doctorate
We ask:
an Italianist with a completed PhD in the field of modern and/or contemporary Italian culture/literature, and an international research profile;
an experienced teacher in Italian Studies;
a candiadte who is willing to obtain the teaching qualifications required by the Faculty;
fluency in Italian, English and Dutch.
Non-Dutch candidates will be required to achieve fluency in Dutch within two years of appointment.

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 4500 - 5000
Salary: scale 12.
Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 4761

We offer a part-time tenure-track position of assistant professor (40%), starting 1 December 2007. The salary range – depending on track record – from € 2,279.- to € 4,761.- per month with a full-time position.
