Queens College's Department of European Languages & Literatures seeks a full-time, tenure track assistant professor of Italian, beginning Fall 2008, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Italian language, literature, and culture; advise students; provide service to the department and the college; and conduct research in the areas of 18th- and 19th-century literature and/or theatre studies and performing arts.

PhD required, with specialization in 18th- and 19th-century literature, commitment to scholarship, and native or near-native fluency in Italian and English. Expertise in Italian language teaching methodology and technology and strong commitment to teaching Italian language and literature courses at all levels required. Expertise in theatre studies and performing arts desirable.
