The Department of Modern Languages invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Italian, beginning September 1, 2011. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Italian and in English, and a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment. We are particularly interested in individuals with a specialization in Italian language and culture and a strong interest in interdisciplinary cultural studies. The successful candidate must be able to teach all levels of Italian language, literature and culture and a strong interest in comparative and inter-disciplinary studies. The candidate will bring enthusiasm and proven teaching excellence to contribute to current departmental efforts to provide innovative instruction and program development.
