Visiting Assistant Professor in Italian, Wesleyan University (CT)



The Department of Romance Languages & Literatures at Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor position in Italian to begin in Fall 2016. This one-year teaching position carries the possibility of renewal for a second year and offers a competitive salary and benefits. We seek candidates whose research and teaching lie in 20th- and 21st-century Italian literature, theatre, screen, and cultural studies.



The teaching load for this position is five courses per year. Courses will include Italian language and culture at all levels of undergraduate instruction. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Italian and English, a demonstrated record of strong teaching of both language and cultural studies to undergraduates, and the interest and willingness to work closely and collaboratively with students and colleagues. Preference will be given to those candidates who will have completed their doctoral degree by 1 July 2016.
