    Position Details: Assistant or Associate Professor of French Studies

    Permanent full time tenure-line position to begin September 2008. Position to be filled at the assistant or associate professor level. Specialization in 20th/21st-century Francophone and French Studies with emphasis in African, Caribbean, diasporic and/or metropolitan literary and visual cultures. Requirements: Ph.D. or equivalent (candidates in the final stages of the PhD program may be appointed on an acting basis), near-native or native fluency in French, demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
