Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities: Successful candidate
will be expected to 1) teach a range of graduate and undergraduate
courses in Italian language, culture, and literature; 2) assume
responsibility for curricular planning and building a program with
emphasis on language and culture; 3) share student advising and
committee assignments.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Italian. If
ABD, candidate must have earned doctorate by time of appointment.
Candidate must have native or near-native command of Italian and
English. Commitment to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses
in Italian language and culture and to develop the undergraduate
program. Knowledge of applied linguistics; experience in curricular
and program development; commitment to coordinate Italian language
program. Evidence of excellence in teaching, including successful
integration of language learning technology. Demonstrated ability to
engage in scholarship/creative activity. Evidence of publications in
peer-reviewed journals in the discipline
At the Associate level, demonstrated record of scholarship/creative activity.

Preferred Qualifications: Effective implementation of National Standards.
