Part-time Lector in Italian
Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, Oxford
Grade 5: £24,057 - £28,695 with discretionary range to £31,342 p.a. (pro rata)
The faculty are seeking to appoint a Lector in Italian. This role is designed as a 3-year career development role (beginning on 1 September 2015) for individuals seeking a career in language teaching, and encompasses a 3-year development programme. Individuals will be appointed a mentor and will be expected to develop and maintain their own learning objectives throughout the programme.

The Lector is responsible for preparing and delivering language teaching within the sub-faculty (for 7 hours a week), including marking work and participating in oral examinations.

This 3-year programme is designed to provide training and development for individuals who are comparatively new to a career in language teaching, as such applicants who have already held a substantively similar post for any significant period will not be eligible to apply. Applicants must be fluent in Italian to native speaker level, and recently resident (studying or travelling) in Italy. They should have experience of teaching Italian at an appropriate level and an undergraduate degree, primarily taught in Italian, in language, linguistics or literature.
